Travis Rice is a legendary snowboarder, someone I respect and admire. For this film, he had the idea of turning the hydrological cycle into an epic journey. He wanted to combine his love for the ocean and mountains with his desire to go to places he’d never expected to go. So that’s what he did. I worked with a team of stellar filmmakers and athletes on this feature film for the Japan and Russian segments, which had us following weather patterns across the North Pacific to remote peaks. The adventure gave Travis’s obsession with finding the most cutting-edge lines a perfect new focus, allowing us to produce an epic sequel to the hugely popular film The Art of Flight.
